Christopher Nupen & Allegro Films proudly announce their BBC Series

A series of our portrait films will be shown on BBC FOUR TV on consecutive Friday evenings beginning on the 26 September and continuing for eight weeks. Six of them, in the style which we pioneered, are distinguished by their youthfulness. The other two are notable for the age of the protagonist - with no diminution in his powers.

The featured artists, in order of appearance, are Jacqueline du Pré, Pinchas Zukerman, Itzhak Perlman, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Evgeny Kissin, Nathan Milstein (a film in two parts on two consecutive Fridays) and our latest film, Karim's Journey, which has just won a prize at the Palermo Festival. It is a film about pianist, conductor and composer Karim Said, recently completed after filming for seven years in six countries and starting when our artist was only eleven years old. The broadcast date will be 14 November.

The first seven films in the series are among the most affectionately remembered music films ever made. We wait with interest to see whether Karim's Journey will generate similar affection.
